Discover the surroundings of the Timhotel Paris Gare de Lyon
The Art Deco style Gare de Lyon, which was built for the Universal Exhibition of 1900, still casts a spell over the surrounding district.
From the Gare de Lyon to the Place des Vosges
Stroll down rue de Bercy as far as the bassin de l’Arsenal marina; walk along the marina and then climb back up to place de la Bastille, home to the opera house and the July column with its "Génie" statue.
Walk down boulevard Beaumarchais then turn left into rue du Pas de Mule which leads to place des Vosges. Here you'll find arcades, gardens, art galleries, boutiques as well as the home of Victor Hugo.
From the famous Marais district to the Saint-Louis Island on the Seine
Exit via rue de Birague and turn right into rue Saint-Antoine. You'll pass the church of Saint-Paul Saint-Louis before then reaching the Marais district.
Turn left into rue de Fourcy and cross le pont Marie bridge. You've now reached île Saint-Louis. Stroll down its narrow streets and around square Barye before crossing back over the Seine via pont de Sully bridge Walk along the wharfs until you reach pont d'Austerlitz bridge.
